Discord put out a rather interesting Tweet out on September 10th foreshadowing a new feature being added into the app. Still no formal announcement, but some servers have been blessed with a cool new feature!!

Custom Role Icons
This new feature will give Discord Servers even more control over their server and its customization. Discord Server owners have been pressuring Discord to release more features that help with customization & personalization. This is another feature added to the arsenal of server owners that creates uniqueness between servers.
Below is a sneak peak of how it will work:

Seems fairly straightforward.. from the server settings (role settings) you will have the option to create a Role Icon for that role. Excited to see this feature officially role out and in many servers. I love having more customization and control over my server. Thank you Discord for listening to us 🙂
